The South Australian Film Corporation is pleased to announce two changes to staff roles within the agency.

In this new role, Kath will work to deliver the SAFC’s recently launched SA Screen Industry Workforce Development Strategy, which provides a roadmap for industry, education and government to work collaboratively to increase the capacity of the SA screen industry. The SAFC recognises the value the agency can provide to the SA screen eco-system by serving as the nexus between industry and education and training sectors to ensure that screen industry employers can find skilled workers, with training that meets their needs, both now and in the future.

Jess will work in this newly created role to deliver on the SAFC’s 2023-24 Business Plan objectives, including management of the SAFC’s industry development and development funding programs.

SAFC CEO Kate Croser said the two appointments were a reflection of the significant value and experience both staff members bring to the agency.

“As highly experienced members of our Production and Development team for many years, Kath McIntyre and Jess Cahill possess great depth of experience, a wealth of knowledge and extensive networks across the screen industry in South Australia and nationally,” she said.

“Their professionalism and commitment to their roles are an invaluable asset to the SAFC, and their contributions to both the agency and the wider SA screen industry have an enormous impact on the positive growth of the sector.

“I’d like to congratulate Kath and Jess on their new appointments within the SAFC, and we look forward to their continued success within the organisation.”

The SAFC also bids farewell to two staff members: Jerri Phillips, who recently left the agency after six years in the Communications and Marketing team, and Emma Henderson, who recently concluded her role as Finance Manager.

SAFC CEO Kate Croser said: “Over her six years with the SAFC Jerri has been an instrumental and well-loved part of the team. On behalf of everyone at the SAFC I’d like to thank Jerri for her valued contributions and hard work. I’d also like to thank Emma for her passion and professionalism over the last 12 months in the interim role of Finance Manager, during which time she has been a valued asset to our Corporate team. We wish both Jerri and Emma the best for the next stages of their careers.”
