Behind the name
In 2019 the Mixing Theatre was officially named after South Australia’s “godfather” of sound Michael Rowan, who constructed, operated and maintained the SAFC’s sound mixing theatres from the agency’s earliest days through to this theatre’s Dolby Accreditation in 2012, and contributed to establishing South Australia as a global leader and a technical frontrunner in the competitive sound post-production business over his 40-year career.
“The Adelaide Studios mixing theatre sound is one of my favourites in the world.”
— Rosemary Blight, producer, I Am Woman, Top End Wedding
