23 June 2026

The South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) is bolstering its commitment to diversity and inclusion in the screen industry with the launch of the new SAFC Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Group (DIAG).
The new group brings together six experienced and respected screen industry practitioners who champion inclusive and equitable practices within the South Australian screen sector to support SAFC leadership by providing informed advice, based on lived experience, and industry insights that promote best practice approaches to diversity, equity, access, and cultural safety.
Members of the DIAG will bring industry experience, business acumen, and strategic insight across a wide range of areas, including SAFC programs and initiatives, organisational governance, legal and regulatory considerations, and future opportunities for sector development.
The inaugural members of the DIAG are:
- Yogi Devgan – Filmmaker and founder of Mount Lofty Studios, the Australian Film Diversity and Inclusion Foundation and the Port Adelaide Diversity and Inclusion Festival
- Katrina Lucas – Documentary producer and director
- Kacy McDonald – Visual Effects Producer and Vice President of Production at Rising Sun Pictures
- Marcus McKenzie – Filmmaker and communications professional with Access2Arts and Arts and Disability Network Australia
- Yasemin Sabuncu – Multi-disciplinary artist, director, writer, actor and creative producer
- Emma Waters – Games programmer, technical artist and co-founder of Towerpoint Games
Diversity in the screen industry is identified as one of the SAFC’s key values in the organisation’s Strategic Plan 2025-2028, recognising that social inclusion and economic success go hand in hand.
