A message from the CEO
17 March 2020
I wanted to reach out to let you know how the SAFC is responding to the unfolding COVID-19 situation.
As an agency we are taking our advice from SA Health and the Federal Department of Health and will continue to do so as the situation develops in South Australia and around the world.
On Sunday 15 March the Premier of South Australia, the Hon. Steven Marshall MP, declared a public health emergency. We understand that for many in our sector, there are risks to your business and livelihood now emerging and coming into play. This is absolutely front of mind for us at the SAFC in our response to the situation.
We want to assure you that we are coordinating with local businesses, upcoming productions as well as the other State screen agencies and Screen Australia to work towards an effective response to these emerging impacts on the SA screen sector.
Last week the Federal Government announced an economic response totalling $17.6 billion to protect the economy with support for business investment, cash flow assistance for employers and more.
We encourage SA screen sector members to share with us any feedback on the availability of support for the SA screen sector through these existing government stimulus packages, by emailing us at [email protected]
As always, the SAFC’s priority remains the support and growth of the South Australian screen industry and its practitioners. Be assured the SAFC will be proactive about supporting the ongoing activities of the sector to the best of our abilities and we will stay in close communication with you over the coming weeks to keep you informed of developments.
Take care of yourselves and each other.
