Vale Rachael Carpani

16 December 2025

The SAFC is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Australian actor Rachael Carpani.

Sydney-born Carpani, 45, was well known to Australian audiences and to members of the South Australian screen sector for her role in long-running TV drama McLeod’s Daughters, which filmed in the state with the assistance of the SAFC. She played Jodi Fountain in nearly 180 episodes from 2001-2009 and was nominated for two Logies in 2007 for the role – the Silver Logie for most popular actress and the coveted Gold Logie.

Her credits also included roles in Seven’s Home and Away and 800 Words, and US productions such as NCIS: Los Angeles, The Glades, and Ben Affleck’s 2020 film The Way Back.

An integral part of the fabric of South Australia’s screen industry, McLeod’s Daughters is a production that holds memories for so many members of our sector. As an audience favourite, and a beloved member of the McLeod’s team, Rachael was a key part of the series’ success, which contributed in many ways to the growth and maturing of South Australia’s screen industry overall.

Rachael will be remembered with great affection and respect by the South Australian and national screen community, and by audiences everywhere.

The SAFC sends condolences to Rachael’s family, friends and colleagues.
