The SAFC is saddened to hear of the passing of award-winning Adelaide producer David Lightfoot on Sunday 13 June, 2021.

Having started his life in film at the SAFC in 1982, David went on to forge a screen career spanning more than three decades, and including over 80 long form credits including Australian classics like Babe, Bad Boy Bubby, Wolf Creek, The Sound of One Hand Clapping and more.

Most recently David produced Adelaide-shot rom-com Never Too Late with Tony Ginnane, which hit number four at the Australian box office last year.

As one of the most experienced and highly regarded production executives in Australia, David dedicated his life to screen and was passionate about telling Australian stories.

SAFC CEO Kate Croser said: “David Lightfoot was not only a highly accomplished and talented producer, but an important part of SAFC history. We are proud to have shared in his storied career, and to have many of his great film productions in the SAFC catalogue. On behalf of the entire SAFC team, our thoughts are with David’s family and friends; he will be missed.”
