Upright and Greatest Air Race get air dates
11 October 2019
Two hotly anticipated South Australian television productions will premiere nationally this summer.
Upright, the new drama series by Tim Minchin, will premiere on Foxtel’s Showcase channel on December 1, and in the UK on Sky Atlantic on November 28, with all episodes available for streaming.
Filmed at Adelaide Studios and on location around South Australia, Upright stars Minchin and Milly Alcock as two misfits who forge the unlikeliest of bonds in their quest to move a precious piano from one side of the country to the other.
Last week The Age and Sydney Morning Herald declared: “This ‘two-for-the-road’ redemption tale could well be the best thing Minchin has ever done”.
Upright is a production by Foxtel, Sky UK, Screen Australia and Lingo Pictures, made in association with the SAFC, with support from Screenwest and Create NSW.

And South Australian documentary The Greatest Air Race will also air nationally in December after being picked up by SBS – stay tuned to the SAFC’s social media channels for the exact broadcast date.
Presented and narrated by SA astronaut Andy Thomas, the SAFC supported documentary by director/producer Susan Harrington and producers Lainie Anderson and Max Anderson tells the extraordinary story of the 1919 air race from England to Australia, and the two victorious Adelaide pilots who changed the course of aviation forever.
