The SAFC was delighted to partner with APRA AMCOS and the South Australian Music Development Office (SA MDO) last week for an exclusive film screening and networking event as part of Screen SongHubs SA 2022, connecting South Australian composers, songwriters and musicians with screen producers, post sound and games industry professionals.

Screen Songhubs participants and mentors came together with SA music and screen industry professionals at Adelaide Studios on the final day of the four-day Screen SongHubs program for a special screening of Grammy Award winning documentary Quincy, an intimate look at the life of American record producer and music industry giant Quincy Jones. The screening was followed by a Q&A with Quincy music supervisor and Screen Songhubs lead mentor, Emmy nominated Australian music producer and songwriter Jasper Leak, along with Grammy winning Australian Alan Hicks who co-directed Quincy alongside Rashida Jones.

Following the screening and Q&A, guests were treated to refreshments and professional networking in the Adelaide Studios atrium.

Thank you to Lisa Bishop who moderated the Q&A, and Uncle Michael O’Brien who welcomed the guests to Kaurna Country through a special welcome song.

Song Hubs SA 2022 was presented by APRA AMCOS with major partner the South Australian Department for Industry, Innovation and Science; supported by the SA Music Development Office, South Australian Film Corporation, Mighty Kingdom, IGEA and Palomino Sound Recorders.
