SAFC-supported Carnifex and The Last Daughter to premiere at AFF 2022

Two further SAFC-supported titles will have their premiere at the upcoming 2022 Adelaide Film Festival in October. These titles join the already announced list of SAFC-supported productions in the program, including The Angels: Kickin’ Down the DoorMonolithTalk to MeMarungka Tjalatjunu/ Dipped in Black and Wave. The full program is set for release next week.

Carnifex, marks the debut feature film from South Australian director and editor, Sean Lahiff. The film, produced by South Australian producers Helen Leake (Wolf Creek 2, Swerve, Black & White, Heaven’s Burning) and Gena Ashwell (Bad Day, Gridiron) from Dancing Road Productions will have its Australian premiere as a part of the program.  The environmental/thriller was produced and post-produced in South Australia and stars Alexandra Park, Sisi Stringer and Harry Greenwood.

AFF will also include the World Premiere of SAFC-supported film The Last Daughter from directors Brenda Matthews and Nathaniel Schmidt (Ice Ball) and produced by South Australian producers Simon Williams (Ice Ball, Goober), and Brendon Skinner (Ice Ball, Goober). Kyle Slabb is Executive Producer and Cultural Advisor, and Executive Producers are Michael Tear of Wildbear Entertainment and Taryn Brumfitt (Embrace, Embrace: Kids). The feature-length documentary explores Brenda’s journey to uncover the truth about her past and reconcile the two sides of her family.
