SAFC strengthens its team to empower film, TV and games production under new three-year Strategic Plan
19 June 2025

As the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) prepares to launch its Strategic Plan 2025-28, the agency is strengthening its team with new skills and expertise to deliver on its vision for growing and supporting the state’s screen sector.
With a number of recent appointments already made, and recruitment soon to get underway for other roles across the agency, the strengthened team structure will support the SAFC to deliver on its new three-year plan for empowering the growth of the South Australian screen industry, set to be launched to industry soon.
The SAFC’s Production team, managing industry programs and funds, will be bolstered by the new role of Production Executive (SA Led), which will provide targeted support specifically for South Australian applicants. This key role will focus on engagement with South Australian writers, directors, producers and production companies to stimulate, develop and deliver SA-led production activity now and in the future.
This role will work alongside the new role of Production Executive (Inbound & Studios), focused on inbound production through leading the operation of Adelaide Studios, increasing South Australia’s capacity, capability and attractiveness and developing the state’s screen workforce. These twin Production Executive roles will work together to provide a holistic support framework for all screen productions filming in the state and at the SAFC’s Adelaide Studios and undertaking post production and visual effects work in the state.
The SAFC is pleased to announce that acting SAFC Production Executive and experienced SA producer Georgia Humphreys has been appointed to the Production Executive (Inbound & Studios) role under a 12-month contract to facilitate the transition to the new Production team structure. With almost 10 years’ experience as a producer working in the SA sector, including since 2016 as co-owner of Corner Table Productions, Georgia comes to the role after 10 months working at the SAFC as acting Facilities Manager, handling bookings and management of Adelaide Studios, and more recently as acting Production Executive.
The SAFC is also pleased to be increasing its support for the SA games sector with the expansion of the Game Development Executive role into a full-time position, with recruitment soon to commence for high level and senior expertise in the business of digital game development to drive significant outcomes for the SA game development sector.
The Production team will also welcome the new role of Talent Development Manager to drive development outcomes for South Australian key creatives and production companies.
Following the recent appointment of senior and highly accomplished Aboriginal woman and arts professional Kirstie Parker as the agency’s inaugural Head of First Nations, the SAFC is pleased to continue building on its support for the SA First Nations screen sector by creating the new role of First Nations Programs Lead. This role is responsible for advancing partnerships and initiatives and engagement to maximise South Australian First Nations screen sector participation.
The SAFC Executive Team is also being strengthened by the recruitment of a Head of Corporate currently underway, with a number of other administrative roles across the agency also set to be recruited.
The SAFC looks forward to these team changes strengthening the agency’s ability to deliver support to the screen industry, with SAFC industry programs and funding continuing and ensuring the SAFC is responsive to evolving industry needs.
