SAFC puts children’s television in the spotlight in ACTF event

The SAFC was delighted to welcome the development team from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) to Adelaide today for a special program of presentations, meetings, pitch sessions and networking opportunities for South Australian screen practitioners.

The program commenced with a presentation from ACTF Head of Content Bernadette O’Mahony and ACTF Development Managers Li-Kim Chuah and Jo Kasch at Adelaide Studios discussing the children’s market and the avenues for SA creatives to work with the ACTF. Cliffy Wilson from Kuma Kaaru opened the event with a Kaurna welcome to country, and SAFC CEO Kate Croser welcomed the ACTF team who spoke in depth about the opportunities available in the Australian and international children’s markets and gave insight and advice in creating and developing content for children.

The presentation was followed by networking over coffee in the Adelaide Studios atrium where guests could speak with the ACTF team and network.

Following this, the SAFC facilitated an afternoon program of pitching sessions with the ACTF development team at Adelaide Studios, where selected SA screen practitioners were given the opportunity to meet with the commissioning teams in individual sessions to pitch their projects and discuss ideas.
