SAFC bids farewell to Production Executive Julie Ryan

The SAFC bids a fond farewell to Production Executive Julie Ryan, who has finished with the agency this week after nearly three years in the role.

One of Australia’s most prolific and accomplished independent film producers with credits including award-winning films Red Dog, Ten Canoes and Hotel Mumbai, Julie has brought a wealth of industry expertise and insight to the SAFC team.

She leaves the SAFC to return to her production company Cyan Films, launching a new partnership with Umbrella Entertainment to develop and produce a fresh slate of original projects for the company’s new production arm Sanctuary Pictures.

SAFC CEO Kate Croser said: “With her depth of knowledge of the Australian and international screen industry, matched by her own extensive personal experience in the field, Julie has been an invaluable asset to the SAFC. On behalf of the organisation I’d like to thank Julie for her hard work and dedication, and wish her all the best in her new role. We look forward to seeing her success back out in the industry.”

Julie Ryan said: “After an amazing two years as Production Executive with the South Australian Film Corporation, I am excited to get back to producing – refreshed and invigorated and ready to start working with original and diverse voices in the genre space. Cyan Films’ partnership with Sanctuary Pictures is the culmination of my longstanding industry relationship with the Umbrella family.”
