SA screen industry celebrates another year of achievement in 2024

This week the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) was pleased to welcome members of the South Australian screen industry alongside Givestakeholders, SAFC Board members and staff to Adelaide Studios to celebrate another outstanding year of SA screen industry activity.
Guests included Minister for Arts Andrea Michaels; Department of the Premier and Cabinet CEO Damien Walker; Adelaide Film Festival (AFF) Chair Anton Andreacchio; The Mercury Co-Chairs Kirsty Stark and Peter Hanlon; Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (IGEA) Chief Executive Ron Curry and COO Raelene Knowles; SAFC Chair Mike Rann AC CNZM and Board members Shouwn Oosting, Lauren Hillman, Angela Heesom, Brian Kayes KC and Clara Reeves; as well as members of Adelaide Studios tenant businesses and many key creatives from across the wider screen industry.
Following a warm Welcome to Country by ElaineMagias to open the formalities, Arts Minister Andrea Michaels and SAFC Chair Mike Rann AC CNZM celebrated some the many significant achievements and successes of the SA screen industry in 2024, including the extension of the successful ABC SAFC Content Pipeline Fund, four film premieres at the 2024 Adelaide Film Festival, 14 awards for SA made and SAFC supported projects at the 2024 AACTA Awards.
SAFC CEO Kate Croser concluded formalities by thanking all those who have contributed to the industry’s success in 2024, with special mention to outgoing First Nations Screen Strategy Executive Pauline Clague and Disability Screen Strategy Executive Gaelle Mellis, who have both finished up with the SAFC after many years of service, providing expert advice and guidance across all corners of the organisation.
