The South Australian Film Corporation is delighted to announce the appointment of Adelaide producer and director Rebecca Summerton to its board

Owner/director of Adelaide production company Closer Productions, Ms Summerton’s work includes feature film Animals, an official Australian-Irish co-production which premiered at Sundance 2019, and mini-series The Hunting which this year broke records to become the highest rating Australian drama series ever for SBS.

She also produced the feature documentary Sam Klemke’s Time Machine which premiered at Sundance 2015, and the innovative low budget feature 52 Tuesdays which won the Directing Award, World Cinema Dramatic at Sundance Film Festival 2014 and the Crystal Bear for Best Film at Berlinale 2014.

Prior to joining Closer in 2011 Ms Summerton worked at the SAFC where she was instrumental in establishing their low budget feature initiative FilmLab.

SAFC CEO Kate Croser said: “I am thrilled to welcome Rebecca Summerton to the SAFC Board. It will be incredibly valuable for our organisation to have access to Rebecca’s current industry experience, insight and relationships at such an exciting time for our screen sector.”

Ms Summerton’s appointment was announced last night at the SAFC by Minister for Innovation and Skills The Hon. David Pisoni MP.
