Out now: COVID-19 Safe Guidelines for Screen Production

01 June 2020

A set of working guidelines to create best practice in COVID-safe production across Australia’s screen sector is now available for download from the Screen Australia website.

The Australian Screen Production Industry COVID-Safe Guidelines have been developed by an Australian Screen Sector Task Force, made up of 18 organisations and state screen agencies including the SAFC, in consultation with the Commonwealth Department of Health and global law firm Clyde & Co.

The Guidelines are intended to provide support and assistance to all practitioners in the Australian screen production industry as they consider returning and recommencing productions, and provide advice on how to eliminate and minimise the risks associated with exposure of personnel to COVID-19 while working on a production.

Now available for download from the Screen Australia website, this is a live document which offers up-to-date practical advice, drawing on a range of resources and consultation with the federal Chief Medical Officer’s team, and will continue to evolve alongside the advice of governments and sector best practice.

The Guidelines are to be used by screen productions as a framework to develop their own COVID-Safe risk mitigation plan prior to recommencing work.

Everyone involved in the screen sector in South Australia has a role to play in minimising the transmission of COVID-19. All productions seeking to recommence work in South Australia must familiarise themselves with, and adhere to, State Government Directions and should refer to the Australian Screen Production Industry Covid-Safe Protocols.
