Aspiring South Australian TV screenwriters can develop their skills and learn more about the industry with the new Spark Development Workshop, from Matchbox Pictures and Epic Films, supported by the SAFC.

Spark is a TV development workshop for SA writers designed to develop not only writing skills, but market knowledge and entrepreneurial skills relating to the Australian television industry.

Run entirely online via Slack and Zoom, the intensive six-week workshop course will be presented by Matchbox SA development producer Kirsty Stark (First Day, Stateless) as part of the Matchbox-SAFC TV Partnership Initiative, with guest appearances by Matchbox staff and key industry figures.

Participants will learn how to shape ideas that connect with the marketplace, develop projects to meet producer and broadcaster needs, and create short pitch materials to sell ideas.

Participants will be encouraged to apply their learnings over the six weeks to the development of a new concept, which they will then be able to pitch to Debbie Lee, Director of Scripted Development at Matchbox.

The Spark Development Workshop has limited places available, with applications closing midnight on Friday 3 July. To find out more and apply online click here
