Last week the SAFC was pleased to welcome Minister for Innovation and Skills The Hon. David Pisoni MP for a visit to the set of new series Firebite, currently in production at Adelaide Studios.

The exciting new vampire series from AMC Studios and See-Saw Films stars Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black), Rob Collins (Cleverman, Extraction) and Callan Mulvey (Avengers: End Game) in leading roles, alongside First Nations Australian star Shantae Barnes-Cowan.

Minister Pisoni met with cast and crew, including director, writer and producer Warwick Thornton, executive producer Rachel Gardner, producer Paul Ranford (SA) and co-producer Dena Curtis, as well as SAFC First Nations Attachment Keith Gilbey-Warrior, who is undertaking a Post-Production Supervisor Attachment on the series.

Shooting at Adelaide Studios and in Coober Pedy, Firebite follows two First Nations Australian hunters, Tyson (Collins) and Shanika (Barnes-Cowan), on their quest to battle the last colony of vampires in the middle of the South Australian desert.

The series is set to debut on premium US streaming platform AMC+ later this year.
