Film Lab: New Voices – film screenings and meet-ups

24 August 2021

Calling all South Australian producers, writers and directors: are you thinking of applying for the next round of the SAFC’s Film Lab: New Voices program?

Join us throughout 2021 for a special series of film screenings and meet-ups, where you can learn more about low budget film methodology, meet other creatives considering applying for the program and potentially form a creative team.

Each screening will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with special guests including the films’ directors, writers and producers, as well as networking drinks with other potential applicants.

A proper understanding of low budget filmmaking is essential for a successful application to the Film Lab: New Voices program. IF YOU WANT TO APPLY FOR FILM LAB: NEW VOICES ROUND 2 YOU SHOULD ATTEND ONE OR MORE OF THESE EVENTS.

Now heading into its second year, Film Lab: New Voices is a low-budget feature film skills development initiative designed to provide a platform for the next generation of diverse, South Australian filmmaking talent.

Under the program, selected South Australian creative teams will undergo 12 months of expert industry mentoring to develop a low-budget feature film script, with one successful project chosen to move into production for premiere at the 2024 Adelaide Film Festival.

To find out more about the successful teams chosen for the inaugural Film Lab: New Voices program, which was co-funded by the SAFC, Adelaide Film Festival (AFF), Screen Australia and Mercury CX, click here.

Applications for Film Lab: New Voices Round 2 will open in October 2021.
