Charlie’s Virtual Residency returns for a second year
26 September 2022
Charlie’s Virtual Residency, a unique online initiative delivered by Australians in Film (AiF) and supported by the SAFC, returns in 2022, giving South Australian producers more opportunities to connect with the US film and television industry.
Charlie’s Virtual Residency is an online version of AiF’s Los Angeles screen hub, Charlie’s, a creative workspace for the Australian filmmaking community in the US to conduct business, collaborate and network.
Three experienced South Australian producers will be selected for curated sessions with AiF and US screen practitioners, with the aim of expanding their knowledge and networks with the international screen marketplace.
Over six sessions, the producers will hear from leading development executives, producers, agents, and managers currently working in the global business based out of Los Angeles. Participants will also meet with Peter Ritchie from AiF to discuss interests, development slate and goals, and meet with US-based film and television production companies, streamers and studios.
The program also includes tailored sessions covering the US industry and market intelligence, insights into how South Australian practitioners can compete in the international market, and introductions for project pitching.
Founded in 2001, Australians in Film is a Los Angeles-based non-profit film, television and digital content foundation that supports and promotes Australian screen talent and culture in the United States.
The AiF Charlie’s Virtual Residency is now open for applications until 11 October, 2022.
