AIDC 2019 Subsidy and Indigenous Creators Program

13 January 2019

Established in 1987, the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) is the Asia-Pacific’s premier event for documentary, specialist factual and unscripted entertainment.

Featuring a four-day marketplace, ideas forum and public screening program, AIDC attracts a dynamic mix of broadcasters, storytellers, entrepreneurs and documentary fans from all over the world. It aims to connect creators, purveyors and viewers of nonfiction screen content in ways that promote business, inspire creativity and ignite social change.

SAFC will provide funding for up to 10 practitioners with current factual projects to attend the conference, which will take place at the Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne from 3-6 March 2019.

Successful applicants will receive funding equivalent to 50% of the cost of full price registration.

Applicants can select which pass is most appropriate for them.

For more information about passes visit the AIDC website here.

Applications close Wednesday, 21 January 2019.

AIDC 2019 Indigenous Creators Program

During the conference, AIDC will be running for the first time its Indigenous Creators Program, a strand of AIDC 2019 sessions designed specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practitioners.

These sessions, which will be private and open only to Indigenous-identifying delegates, will provide targeted information and skills around pitching, storytelling, funding, legal considerations and distribution.

The South Australian Film Corporation will select four Indigenous South Australian practitioners to attend the conference and subsidise 100% of the ‘all access pass’ with an additional $450 towards travel expenses.

Applications close Wednesday, 21 January 2019.
