Ben Kirchner is a seasoned economic development professional with over 20 years of experience in investment attraction, industry growth, and creative sector support. As Business Investment Advisor at the Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA), Ben plays a pivotal role in driving business and investment initiatives across technology, creative industries, and professional services. He leads programs supporting startups and scale-ups, facilitates strategic partnerships, and helps businesses leverage cutting-edge infrastructure such as Ten Gigabit Adelaide, Australia’s first 10Gbps fibre optic network.
A long-time champion of Adelaide’s games sector, Ben has spearheaded initiatives that connect industry, government, and creative talent. He has supported market access for indie developers at international events, facilitated early-career placements through the Games Plus Support Program, and played a key role in attracting AAA studios to Adelaide, including Big Ant Studios and Tantalus South.
Ben joins the SAFC Games Industry Advisory Group to bring a strategic economic development perspective, support inclusive and sustainable growth, and help foster collaboration, investment, and career pathways within the South Australian games ecosystem.
