South Australian video game talent to level up at MIGW 2026, Asia Pacific’s largest digital games event
24 September 2026

The strength of South Australia’s video game development sector is set to be showcased on the national stage with 11 local studios joining a special SA industry delegation to Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW), including four showcasing their games at PAX Aus.
The largest digital games event in the Asia-Pacific region, MIGW encompasses Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) (5-7 October), Australia’s premier professional development and networking event for the games sector; Australia’s biggest games exhibition PAX Aus (9-11 October); and games B2B market Play Now (8 October).
Led by the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) in partnership with the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (IGEA) and supported by CreateSA, the SA MIGW delegation will travel to Melbourne to represent the state at the national event, with additional support from the Department of State Development (DSD) enabling four of the delegate studios to exhibit their games at PAX Aus’ PAX Rising, a curated showcase of Australia’s best indie titles.
The selected SA studios and developers travelling to MIGW, and their games, are:

As part of their event preparation, delegates have participated in a special business training workshop with Australian games industry consultant Jon Cartwright, honing their pitching and networking skills, and learning how to leverage their attendance at MIGW to progress their games towards market and commercial outcomes.
Building on recent state government support for SA representation at international markets and conferences such as Gamescom (Germany), BitSummit (Japan), and the Indigenous Games Summit (NZ), as well as at the SAFC’s own annual SAGE: SA Game Exhibition, the SA MIGW delegation will allow developers to connect with publishers and investors, explore new markets, and test their games with audiences.
The initiative also builds on the SAFC’s existing suite of support for the game development sector, including the newly launched Digital Games Fund, SA Video Game Development (VGD) Rebate and SAGE, the largest video game exhibition event in South Australia which this year saw over 3,700 tickets snapped up by video game developers, players and fans.
Deputy Premier & Minister for Arts Kyam Maher MLC said: “Video game development is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and the Labor Government is proud to support our talented local sector to connect with publishers, investors and audiences at the biggest games event in our region. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase our state as a buzzing centre for game development, innovation and creative talent to national and international industry audiences.”
SAFC Acting CEO Leanne Saunders said: “South Australia’s games sector is going from strength to strength, and this special SAFC delegation to Melbourne International Games Week is a great opportunity to showcase the talent and ambition of our local studios on a national stage.
“We are thrilled that with 12 developers representing 11 local studios this is our largest industry delegation to date, allowing more SA games creatives than ever before to connect with publishers and investors, explore new markets, build industry relationships and put their games in front of audiences.
“We’re delighted to be working with our partners at IGEA to offer this exciting initiative, and we acknowledge the support of CreateSA and additional support from DSD for making this opportunity possible for SA games businesses to grow and attract investment to the state.”
