Adelaide’s biggest and most exciting video games event for developers and fans alike, the South Australian Game Exhibition (SAGE) returns in 2026 with a record number of new and innovative games on display, and all the FREE, family-friendly fun you can pack into two days! Now in its fourth exciting year, SAGE is South Australia’s premier event championing the state’s game development industry, taking over Adelaide Studios as part of the Adelaide Fringe on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 February, 2026.

Presented by the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), SAGE is a super showcase of South Australia’s video game development sector, with a huge range of locally made games on display to see and play. SAGE allows video game fans, players, enthusiasts and everyone in between to experience exciting new South Australian made games first-hand and meet the people behind them.

And in an exciting new expansion, the SAFC will partner with the South Australian Games Association (SAGA) in presenting the 2026 SA Game Industry Awards at Adelaide Studios as the thrilling conclusion to SAGE, with the SAGE Awards announced as part of the proceedings. The SAGE Awards offer $2,000 cash from the SAFC for Best in Exhibition and $1,000 in legal services from SAGE sponsor and games industry specialist Cam Rogers Legal for the SAGE Elevate Award, both determined by an industry jury.

Arts Minister Andrea Michaels MP said: “It’s fantastic to have SAGE back at Adelaide Studios for 2026! Game development is an incredibly exciting and growing industry globally with latest figures showing Australians spend $3.8 billion on video games each year. Our state is home to brilliant creative minds and the games industry presents significant opportunities for South Australia. This event brings together video game designers, studios and fans to connect and collaborate.”

SAFC CEO Kate Croser said: “South Australia’s games industry is alive with creativity and talent, and SAGE is your chance to dive in and experience it first-hand. From groundbreaking original titles to bold, imaginative concepts, this event showcases the best our local developers and artists have to offer. We’re deeply grateful to our incredible partners and sponsors for making SAGE 2026 possible, and for helping the SAFC grow this exciting annual event to become an important part of Australia’s games industry calendar. SAGE is where South Australia’s vibrant games community comes together – and we can’t wait to welcome you to discover the very best of this thriving sector.”

Along with the SAFC’s newly launched Digital Games Fund, and the SA Video Game Development Rebate, SAGE is another innovative way the SAFC supports South Australian video game development and production and games businesses as part of the agency’s commitment to supporting and championing all segments of South Australia’s screen industry, cementing the state’s reputation as a leading location for game development.
