Indigenous screen creatives announced for Bunya Talent Incubator

Eight teams of Indigenous producers, writers and directors from South Australia and Northern Territory will develop their ideas for new web series, TV series and feature films with industry experts at an exciting new workshop in Adelaide next week.

The Bunya Productions Creative Talent Incubator, supported by Screen Australia’s Enterprise Business and Ideas Program and the South Australian Film Corporation, is a three-day workshop especially for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander screen creatives being held in Adelaide from November 29 to December 1.

The three-day intensive features a bespoke program of masterclasses and one-to-one mentoring with experienced industry practitioners, with the aim of identifying and harnessing talent for film, TV and digital outcomes, and to advance the story ideas and skills of emerging and mid-career Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practitioners.

The Bunya Productions Creative Talent Incubator is part of Centralised, a new initiative between founding partners the South Australian Film Corporation & Adelaide Studios, Screen Territory, Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department, Documentary Australia Foundation (DAF), AFTRS Indigenous (Australian Film, Television & Radio School), ABC and NITV, to deliver development and production initiatives that will creatively link the North and South of Central Australia by delivering opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander screen creatives.

Centralised encourages screen storytelling, practitioner and audience development in South Australia and the Northern Territory, with an emphasis on collaboration that crosses state borders.
