2019 Brilliant Careers Leadership Forum

Presented by the Natalie Miller Fellowship in partnership with Film Victoria, the Brilliant Careers Leadership Forum 2019 will be held in Melbourne from 24 – 25th October. The Forum aims to foster skills to encourage female leadership in the Australian screen industry. Building upon the success of the 2017 Brilliant Careers national conference, this year’s forum will address the gender imbalance in decision-making roles in the industry and support the emergence of the next generation of female leaders.

This is a one-day conference at RMIT University, bringing together close to 200 women for sessions on navigating leadership, developing confidence, influence and presence, in addition to offering valuable opportunities for attendees to make new connections across the screen industry.

The 2019 Brilliant Careers Leadership Forum includes:

  • A special evening networking and screening function of This Changes Everything at HOYTS Melbourne Central, 6pm on Thursday 24th October.
  • All-day event on Friday 25 October including facilitated workshops, keynote speakers and panel discussions.

The Forum will take place at at RMIT University, Swanston Street, Melbourne from 9am to 5pm (includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea), followed by networking drinks from 5pm to 7pm.

What is on offer?

The South Australian Film Corporation will support up to five South Australian resident, emerging and established female or female identifying screen industry leaders to attend the Forum. The SAFC will cover the full cost of the conference registration.

The SAFC is committed to supporting increased participation in the industry of people from under-represented groups including women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, practitioners from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, those with disability, from LGBTQIA+ communities and from regional areas.

In alignment with these policies, practitioners from the ATSI community, regional or remote areas or those requiring additional access support are strongly encouraged to contact a Funding Officer to discuss the potential for additional funding support.

Applications close on Monday, 26 August at 11.59pm ACST. 

Successful applicants will be notified via email by 30 August 2019.
