New Screen Makers Conference (July 15 - 16)
Key creatives behind some of Australia’s most innovative new projects includingPlease Like Me, No Activity, Soul Mates and I Am A Girl will be in Adelaide this week for the New Screen Makers Conference to talk project development, market trends and career pathways.
Presented by the MRC and designed for screen practitioners of all experience levels, the New Screen Makers Conference is a two-day brains trust of film, TV and online heavyweights. The line-up will showcase some of the state’s most celebrated creatives to situate national and international trends in the local context.
Seminars and panel sessions will reveal pathways to market and audience, discuss writer’s room practices, explore ways to capitalise on opportunities in the online space, map out thriving grass roots marketing campaigns and dissect philanthropic funding models. Networking events and roundtables provide informal face-time with gate-keepers and green-lighters: an invaluable prospect for practitioners at any stage.
With eyes peeled for local talent and fresh ideas for stories – the opportunity to get familiar with a cross-section of Australia’s most productive writers, directors, producers and broadcasters should not be missed by anyone working in the screen industry today.
Whether you’re keen on comedy, gaga for drama, or dedicated to documentary, #NSMC16 is the place to talk trends and opportunities for all Australian filmmakers.
