02.03 DOCUMENTARY SCRIPT AND PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

what is the scheme?
This scheme provides development investment for South Australian documentary projects. It funds the creation of scripts, treatments and visual materials in order to support a documentary project secure production finance.

who is eligible?
In addition to the eligibility criteria detailed in the General Guidelines, applicants are expected to: 
    /    be either a credited South Australian producer or director or 
    /    a South Australian director or producer with a half hour documentary broadcast credit and/or 
         recognised festival credit or 
    /    a credited interstate producer where there are strong South Australian key creative attachments in 
         place, and where there are demonstrable cultural and economic benefits to the state
The applicant will: 
    /    have control of copyright of the project, 
    /    be able to demonstrate an option on the work with the right to deal in the work for a minimum of 
         two years, renewable for a further extended period of one year in place.

when can I apply?
Documentary Project and Script Development funding applications will be considered on a rounds basis as follows: 
    /    up to three (3) rounds per year for credited applicants
Applications with market attachment will be accepted throughout the year.
Applicants are encouraged to visit www.safilm.com.au for specific round dates.
Furthermore, applications for time critical funding are possible where there is strong market interest from a broadcaster or distributor.
