The SAFC offers a friendly, personalised sound post production service that ensures that everything you need is close at hand – and all at competitive rates.

Feature film and television mixing

Our Dolby Digital mixing theatre caters for both feature film and television mixing. It includes a fully automated Harrison Series 12 mixing console, a 24 fader Digidesign D-command ES and two Mackie HUI control surfaces. In the theatre are two Pro Tools HD3 systems, running the latest version of Pro Tools and loaded with plugins, a fairlight MFX3 workstation is also available. Outboard gear includes the TC System 6000, the LExicon 960L and a Cedar DNS1000 amongst others. The theatre is linked via ethernet to the other editing rooms within the building for ease of file transfer.

Also available for audio playback are Tascam DA-88s, a Sony 2” 24 track audio tape machine, DATs, minidisc and MagnaTech 35mm dubbers, allowing for a wide range of formats.

Image is provided by Betacam SP, SVHS, DVD or via disk based digital video, such as Quicktimes, with full screen video projection or by a MagnaTech high speed rock and roll 35mm projector. Continuous 35mm screenings can also be run either double head or off a Kinoton platter system. A 16mm projector is also available.

Orchestral recordings

Sound Stage 1 is linked to the mixing theatre allowing orchestral music to be recorded and monitored in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

Foley and ADR

Theatre 3 is equipped with the latest version of Pro Tools, a Digidesign 002 and a Command 8 control surface for recording Foley and ADR. With an isolated control room, the recording space is a well sound proofed large space great for recording anything from the smallest pin drop to the largest crowd.
Linked to the main mixing theatre, file transfer is quick an easy.

The rooms can be hired by themselves, or recordist and Foley artists can be supplied. Our in house engineers and foley artist are experienced and efficient, ensuring excellent results within your budget.
