Industry Development and Production (IDP) Programs - Updated July 2013
NEW INDUSTRY PROGRAMS
Please find below the suite of new SAFC Industry Programs developed as a result of the SAFC’s Strategic Review (December 2012 - July 2013).
What you will notice when reviewing the new suite of industry programs is that there has been a major consolidation of existing SAFC programs within each category, as well as the addition of a new category; Seed Company Development.
This consolidation is reflective of the major shift toward adoption of a platform neutral approach to funding. This is in response to the SAFC’s need to streamline operations and to create clarity around program funding allocation in the light of a constrained budgetary environment.
PROGRAM GUIDELINES & APPLICATION FORMS
The SAFC Board approved final funding guideline documentation on Tuesday 9 July 2013. New corresponding application forms will become available within one month of any published program deadline. Deadline dates for those programs with rounds will be determined shortly and will be communicated broadly to industry via the website and SAFC subscriber communications. For those programs without round deadlines (ie apply at any time) the existing application forms will be used.
A new application process will be trialed shortly including a testing phase. In the interim existing applications will be used in consultation with IDP staff with whom applicants are required to discuss their applications as part of any application process. In these discussions any additional clauses, criteria or requirements will be clearly advised.
HONOURING LEGACY PROGRAMS
As per previous advice, all existing contractual arrangements related to funding from the SAFC’s previous programs will be honoured. This includes Filmlab and Digital360Lab funding, and funding for attendance at festivals such as MIFF37South.
Other legacy programs include, Documentary Script and Project Development and Drama Script and Project Development which will be made available for a last time.
The SAFC is currently engaging with major Australian conferences and markets to negotiate lower rates for SA practitioners, creating a direct benefit to local practitioners by delivering value through discounted attendance fees. These discounts replace individual applications for professional development relating to travel and attendance. More information about negotiated discounts will be communicated broadly to industry as we draw closer to each conference/market or event.
Acquittal reports for legacy professional development and travel programs are still required to be submitted using the SAFC Acquittal Report Template, please contact Lynn Marie Newall firstname.lastname@example.org to obtain a copy of this template.
The SAFC is taking a business as usual approach to applications and invites all prospective applicants to please contact the IDP Program Coordinator in the first instance via email to email@example.com or phone 8394 2027 so you can be directed to the relevant IDP staff member to discuss any application you may be considering lodging.
