FilmLab is a $4.2 million bold low budget filmmaking initiative designed to provide a platform for the next generation of South Australian screen industry practitioners to develop and demonstrate their talent.

FilmLab provides professional and career development opportunities for South Australian practitioners through an intensive project development program and the production of original low budget films primarily for the local and international festival market.

FilmLab is a South Australian Film Corporation initiative.

 FilmLab objectives

The two key objectives of FilmLab are to:
1. Provide production opportunities in a manner that allows a next generation of fillmakers the opportunity to develop their skills and demonstrate their talent on screen
2. Nurture talent and creativity in a manner that is different to any other similar production development program

FilmLab 2009

FilmLab has commenced with four teams selected to undertake the three-week intense workshop, followed up by ongoing mentoring and developed focused on delivering a feature length film.
