2013 BlueCat International Screenplay Competition

The BlueCat Screenplay Competition has been discovering and developing writers since 1998. In nearly every occasion, the awards bestowed by BlueCat have proven to be the first professional acknowledgment for the writer. Over the years, winners and finalists have been telling many success stories following BlueCat, including:

~ Signings with major talent agencies like UTA, CAA and WME.
~ Selling their work to studios like Warner Bros, Paramount and Universal.
~ Winning major awards at the Sundance, Berlin and Tribeca Film Festivals.

BlueCat provides two pieces of written feedback to the writer as a part of the entry fee, the only screenplay competition to do so. This ensures each screenplay is fairly judged and provided quality notes from professional readers.

BlueCat realise that screenwriting is an international affair and that talented screenwriters are living all around the world. That’s why they've introduced two prizes solely awarded to writers living outside the United States.

The Cordelia Award. This $1,000 (USD) prize is awarded to an outstanding script submitted by a writer residing in the U.K. For more information, please click here.

The Joplin Award. This $1,000 (USD) prize is awarded to an outstanding script submitted by an entrant that resides outside the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. For more information please click here.

All international entries are eligible for specialized awards AND remain eligible for main competition awards.

BlueCat offers generous prizes including $2,000 for each of the four finalists and a $10,000 Grand Prize winner.

To be considered for the Regular Deadline, entries must be postmarked or received electronically on or before October 15th, 2011. The entry fee for this deadline is $65 per screenplay.
