THE MOMENT PICKS UP PALM SPRINGS AWARD

MOM_001

Digital Media Short Film “The Moment” has won second place for “Best Live Action short 15 MINUTES AND UNDER” at the 2012 Palm Springs International ShortFest, which ran from June 19-25, 2012.

A joint production between Monkeystack and Smoking Gun Productions, Produced by Justin Wight and Kristian Moliere and co-Directed by Troy Bellchambers and Shane McNeil, the film was also part of the 2011 Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund (AFFIF).

This adaptation of a Shaun Micallef short story explores the space between reality, memory and delusion. Combining thousands of still images set within digitally created environments, The Moment is the story of an old man torn from his slumber by a horrible and unshakable vision.

The 2012 Palm Springs International ShortFest is the largest short film festival and market in North America. A total of 324 short films screened throughout the Festival along with more than 3,000 filmmaker submissions available in the film market.
